Ahead of Shamshera trailer’s release on June 24, Sanjay Dutt shared a poster of his character from the film. Introducing himself as Daroga Shuddh Singh, the Agneepath actor dropped the poster on Instagram in which he is seen wearing a police uniform, holding a whip with a huge tikka smeared on his forehead. In the caption, he wrote, “Watch him in #ShamsheraTrailer tomorrow! Celebrate #Shamshera with #YRF50 only at a theatre near you.” Three posters were shared by the actor, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The story of Shamshera take place in the fictional city of Kaza, where a brutal authoritarian commander named Shudh Singh imprisons, enslaves, and tortures a warrior tribe. This is the tale of a guy who was sold into slavery, who later rose to leadership positions and became a legend among his community. He never stops fighting for the independence and honour of his tribe. Shamshera is his name.
The action-packed, heart-pounding show takes place in the 1800s in the centre of India. The role of Shamshera in the movie holds the huge promise of a never-before-seen Ranbir! In this major casting coup, Sanjay plays Ranbir’s arch-enemy, and their confrontation will be one to watch out for as they will savagely engage in combat with no mercy.
Directed by Karan Malhotra, this action extravaganza has been produced by Aditya Chopra and is set to release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on July 22, 2022.
