Saqib Saleem to Join Salman Khan in Army Drama by Apoorva Lakhia
A new actor may be joining the team for Salman Khan’s eagerly awaited military action drama directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Our sources tell us that actor Saqib Saleem is being eyed for a significant role, and if he does join the film, we will get to see another collaboration with Salman after Race 3.
Salman Khan’s Next Film Will Be a Patriotic Action Entertainer
The film has not been titled, but it will reportedly feature Salman Khan as an Indian Army officer, a role he has not played previously. According to earlier reports, Apoorva Lakhia of Shootout at Lokhandwala fame feels his next film will include mass action and emotional drama, along with pride in the nation, in line with the trend for patriotic films.
Apoorva Lakhia also got back from recce-ing Leh-Ladakh not long ago, which should indicate the film will be visually well-staged. Filming on the movie is expected in the summer of 2025, with a large-scale release planned for 2026.
Saqib Saleem in Advanced Discussions
Saqib Saleem is in advanced discussions but has not yet signed.
An industry insider said,
“Saqib is in talks for a significant role as an army officer. He is likely to have a look test soon. If the makers are happy, he will officially be in the film. Salman is involved in the casting for the younger roles.”
This reconnection with Salman Khan, after the lukewarm reaction to Race 3, could be a new chapter for Saqib, whose work in digital television projects has been praised in the past several years.
More Actors Expected To Join The Cast
In addition to Saqib, the film is expected to have a talented supporting cast, as two or three more young actors are likely to join the cast. Sooraj Pancholi‘s name has been reported, but it is believed that director Apoorva Lakhia is keeping his options open.
The film is still in the early casting process and is expected to be officially announced sometime later with the full cast.
