The Indian film industry was left in shock as the news of the demise of Pamela Chopra, wife of the late legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, broke out. Pamela Chopra passed away at the age of 74 in the early hours of the day. She was the mother of Yash Raj Films (YRF) head honcho Aditya Chopra and mother-in-law of actress Rani Mukerji.
As per the official statement released by YRF, Pamela Chopra was cremated at 11:00 am today in Mumbai. The statement also requested privacy for the family in this moment of deep sadness and reflection.
The whole film industry was saddened by the news of her passing, and as a mark of respect, Salman Khan cancelled the premiere of his film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The screening was scheduled to take place tonight in YRF Studios, and many people from the industry were expected to attend. Salman Khan’s upcoming film Tiger 3 is also backed by YRF.

Pamela Chopra was recently seen in the Netflix show The Romantics, which traced the rise of Yash Chopra and YRF. Her portrayal in the show was appreciated, especially the way she spoke fondly about marrying Yash Chopra and standing by his side through thick and thin. Pamela was a multitalented personality, being a singer, writer, dress designer, producer, and associate producer. She has sung in various films like Kabhi Kabhie (1976), Trishul (1978), Kaala Patthar (1979), Silsila (1981), Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991), Darr (1993) and her last song was ‘Ghar Aaja Pardesi’ from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995). She was also credited as a writer in films like Kabhi Kabhie and Dil To Pagal Hai (1997). Pamela Chopra is survived by her two sons Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra.
