Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan gave a pep talk to his IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), ahead of their opening clash with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 18th season of the tournament on Saturday. The actor wished the players to be “happy and healthy.”
In a video shared by the official Instagram account of KKR, Shah Rukh addressed the players. He said, “God bless you. Please be healthy, be happy. And thank you, Chandu sir, for looking after them. Welcome aboard to the new members. Thank you, Ajinkya, for joining us and being a captain. God bless you, and I hope you will find a good home here and play well with all of us. Have a good evening, a good match, and be healthy.”
KKR’s captain, Ajinkya Rahane, played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the last season of the IPL. The video was shared with the caption, ” , (sic).”

Shah Rukh Khan arrived in Kolkata on Friday amid high security. Dressed in a white T-shirt and grey waistcoat, the actor looked dapper as he waved to fans at Kolkata airport.
The grand opening ceremony of IPL 2025 will begin at Eden Gardens at 6 pm, with Shah Rukh Khan expected to kick things off with a monologue, leading into the mega celebration. Besides SRK, singer Shreya Ghoshal, rapper Karan Aujla, and actor Disha Patani will take the stage.
Shah Rukh Khan shared on social media that invited fans to join IPL opening ceremony at 6 pm today.
He posted, “Party Pathan ke ghar pe rakhoge toh mehman nawazi ke liye Pathan khud aayega aur patake bhi layega.
Aaj shaam 6 baje dekhiye IPL 18 ka mega celebration. @BCCI @IPL @JioHotstar”
