After India’s historic win against Australia at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan responded on Twitter with a lovely message to India women’s hockey coach Sjoerd Marijne. For the first time in history, the Indian women’s hockey team, led by Rani Rampal, defeated Australia in the quarterfinals of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, securing a spot in the semifinals.
India took the lead in the second quarter of the match because of a spectacular dragflick from Gurjit Kaur from a penalty corner, and despite earning seven penalty corners, the World No. 2 team Australia was unable to score, losing 1-0.
Coach Sjoerd Marijne, who was seen celebrating with his players after the game, shared a photo on Twitter of his staff in the team bus relishing the victory.
“Sorry family , I coming again later,” Marijne wrote on Twitter.
