About The TV Series Interview With The Vampire

The TV series Interview With the Vampire, based on Anne Rice’s 1976 novel, portrays the intense romance between vampire maker Lestat de Lioncourt and the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac, played by Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson, respectively.

Under the guidance of showrunner Rolin Jones, the series maintains the Gothic romanticism of the original narrative while carving its own identity separate from Rice’s book and the 1994 film adaptation.

In Season 2, set in present-day 2022, Louis recounts his life story to journalist Molloy, starting from the aftermath of his and Claudia’s failed attempt to kill Lestat in 1940.

Eager to leave New Orleans behind, Louis and Claudia head to Paris in search of Old World Vampires. Their journey leads them to the Theatre Des Vampires, a vampire-run theatre, where they find unexpected success.

Louis becomes infatuated with Armand upon meeting him, experiencing both vampirism and homosexuality for the first time under Armand’s influence. This introduces a new layer of complexity to Louis’s life and choices.

As Louis and Armand present a picture of happiness to Molloy, cracks in their facade begin to surface when they encounter an outsider who challenges their relationship.
