Vijay Sethupathi is currently basking in the success of his recent film Maharaja. Known for his extensive work in Tamil cinema, Vijay made a notable debut in the Hindi entertainment industry with the OTT series Farzi. He later starred alongside Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee’s 2023 film Jawan.
In a recent interview, Vijay showered praise on his Jawan co-star, calling SRK a ‘great storyteller’.
Vijay Sethupathi Calls Shah Rukh Khan ‘Attractive’
Talking to Cinema Vikatan, Vijay Sethupathi expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan. He shared how he was struck by SRK’s voice and storytelling ability. “His mind is very versatile,” Vijay remarked. “I told him in an interview that he is more attractive as a person than a star.”
In a previous conversation with Hindustan Times, Vijay revealed a key lesson he learned from Shah Rukh Khan. He admired SRK’s unwavering energy levels, recounting a time during the Jawan shoot when SRK was unwell.
Despite his illness, Shah Rukh’s professionalism and dedication remained undiminished, a quality that deeply impressed Vijay.
Vijay Sethupathi’s Films in 2024
On the professional front, Vijay Sethupathi has been busy in 2024 with two theatrical releases. Earlier this year, he starred in Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas, which hit theatres on 12 January. In this film, Vijay shared the screen with Katrina Kaif, and the movie was simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil.
Most recently, Vijay’s new project Maharaja was released in theatres on June 14. Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, this action-thriller clashed at the box office with Chandu Champion and Inside Out 2.
Maharaja, produced by Passion Studios, The Route, and Think Studio, features a star-studded cast including Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Natarajan Subramaniam. The film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 20 crore.
