Shah Rukh Khan Fan Clubs Kick Off King Fdfs Countdown Four Months Early As Standees Light Up A Sangli Cinema

The countdown for Shah Rukh Khan’s King has started far earlier than most films can hope for, and the latest burst of fan energy is coming from Maharashtra’s Sangli. With roughly four months still to go before the film’s Christmas 2026 release, local Shah Rukh Khan fan clubs have already begun marking the road to the first day first show, turning a cinema visit into a visible celebration with King standees taking over the venue. That kind of advance frenzy says plenty about the film’s hold on audiences even before its full theatrical campaign is in motion.

The excitement around King has been building steadily ever since Red Chillies Entertainment officially unveiled the title and confirmed the project as Shah Rukh Khan’s next collaboration with director Siddharth Anand after all time blockbuster Pathaan. The production house has listed the film for a December 24, 2026 release, a date that places it squarely in the year-end holiday corridor, traditionally one of Hindi cinema’s biggest windows.

Fan Frenzy Reaches Sangli

What makes the Sangli moment stand out is the timing. Fan clubs are not waiting for trailer launches or advance bookings to begin the celebrations. By putting up King standees at a cinema months in advance and starting an FDFS countdown now, they have effectively turned anticipation itself into an event. In Shah Rukh Khan’s star ecosystem, that kind of mobilisation has long been part of the spectacle, but the scale of enthusiasm around King suggests fans see this one as another major big-screen moment.

That expectation is also tied to the project’s positioning. Red Chillies has confirmed Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, with Siddharth Anand directing, and the film’s official title reveal was presented as a major event in itself. Current film listings also place King as a 2026 release, with Shah Rukh Khan attached in the central role.

T-Series Bags Shah Rukh Khan’s King Music Rights In A Massive Rs 52 Crore Deal

The  music battle around King has a clear winner now. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that T-Series, and not Zee Music, has secured the music rights for Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited King for Rs 52 crore, bringing an end to the industry chatter that had sent the title in a different direction.

For days, the conversation in trade circles had been pulled in two directions, with Zee Music’s name surfacing in circulating reports and multiple figures doing the rounds. That confusion has now been settled. A source close to the development confirmed to Box Office Worldwide, “T-Series has acquired the music rights of King for Rs 52 crore.”

The creative line-up around the soundtrack has already fueled strong interest in the film’s music prospects. Sachin-Jigar are associated with the songs of King, while Anirudh Ravichandran is attached for the background score, giving the film an audio package that matches its big-screen ambition. That combination makes the T-Series acquisition even more significant, especially for a film expected to build enormous pre-release traction through its music drops and promotional campaign.

Film’s theatrical rights already sold to Jayantilal Gada for record 250 crore sum.

What King Has Confirmed So Far

King is backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, with Siddharth Anand directing Shah Rukh Khan in an action-driven big-screen outing. The official production details confirm its release date as December 24, 2026. It is currently positioned as one of Khan’s marquee upcoming theatrical releases of the year.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Shah Rukh Khan’s last theatrical releases were Pathaan (2023), Jawan (2023), and Dunki (2023), a run that re-established his box office dominance and gave him three major releases in one calendar year. Current filmography records for 2026 place King as his next confirmed theatrical project.

If Sangli is any indication, King is not just another release on the calendar. For Shah Rukh Khan’s fan base, the film has already entered event mode.
