Shah Rukh Khan’s King Promo Gets CBFC Clearance, Here’s Why Ramayana May Become Its Biggest Launchpad

Shah Rukh Khan fans may finally be inching closer to King’s first major big screen reveal. A 45-second promo for the action thriller has now been certified, a development that sharply raises the stakes around the film’s next move and signals that the campaign is ready to step into public view. For a star vehicle carrying this much curiosity, even a short promo becomes a headline event.

That is where Ramayana enters the conversation. If the promo is indeed attached to the film’s theatrical prints, King could secure the kind of launchpad most productions can only hope for, a packed cinema audience already primed for spectacle. It is the sort of placement that can turn a routine promotional drop into an event in itself.

Why Ramayana Could Be A Major Launchpad

A theatrical attachment with Ramayana would give King enormous visibility at exactly the right stage of its rollout. Big event films pull in a broad audience base, and a promo screened in that setting can create instant recall in a way standalone digital launches often do not. For a film leaning heavily into scale, star power and action, the theatre remains the most effective first contact point.

There will be various co branded promos for King too and one of such got censored yesterday. But it’s NOT the film’s teaser.

The certified promo has also added another layer of excitement around the team’s next official reveal. With King already carrying strong curiosity value, this move suggests the makers are beginning to shape its public-facing campaign more carefully and more aggressively.

King Reunites Shah Rukh Khan And Siddharth Anand

King marks Shah Rukh Khan’s reunion with Siddharth Anand after Pathaan, the 2023 blockbuster that became one of the biggest commercial highs of the actor’s career. The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, and the ensemble features Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Saurabh Shukla.

The project is positioned as an action thriller, but its emotional pull is just as notable as its scale. Shah Rukh Khan sharing the screen with Suhana Khan gives the film an added layer of curiosity, especially as this becomes her first major theatrical outing after The Archies premiered on Netflix in 2023.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Dunki in 2023, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, after delivering the two huge theatrical blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan in the same year. Pathaan, co starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, brought him back to all-out action mode in commanding fashion. Jawan, directed by Atlee and co starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, followed with even bigger mass appeal and cemented 2023 as a defining year in his career.

As of October 16, 2026, King is his next confirmed theatrical release. Scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 24, 2026, the film now sits at the centre of enormous trade and fan attention, with this newly certified promo serving as the clearest sign yet that the countdown has begun.
