Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood superstar who has a huge fan following across the globe, may be approached to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as a superhero. The Marvels director Nia DaCosta has expressed her admiration for the actor and said that he is a legend and a no-brainer choice for a Marvel project.
The Marvels director wants to work with Shah Rukh Khan
In an interview with News18, DaCosta was asked about a Bollywood star she would like to collaborate with. She immediately named Shah Rukh Khan and said, “Shah Rukh Khan is kind of a legend, isn’t he? It’s kind of a no-brainer in that sense.” She also said that if Marvel decides to set their stories in different countries, then their goal is always to use actors from that part of the world.
Ask her if it ever crossed her mind to rope in a Bollywood star in the movie like Farhan Akhtar was brought on board for Ms Marvel, DaCosta confessed that there was no discussion during the making. “I never thought about that. I think we were just keeping everything really organic so we never wanted to do any kind of stunt casting. But there is always time, there’s always time,” she said.
The Marvels, which is the sequel to Captain Marvel, is set to release on November 10, 2023. The film stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Park Seo-joon as Amadeus Cho, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Zawe Ashton as the villain. The film will also introduce Ms. Marvel, the first Muslim superhero in the MCU, who is a fan of Shah Rukh Khan and his movies.

The Marvels is releasing in theatres in English Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu and is set to clash with Salman Khan Starrer Tiger 3 which is expected to see a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan.
Shah Rukh’s connection with the MCU
Shah Rukh Khan‘s name and films have already been mentioned in the Ms. Marvel series, which premiered on Disney+ Hotstar in June 2022. The show featured Priyanka Chopra as the voice of Ms. Marvel in the video game version of the character. The show’s makers revealed that they would go back into production if Shah Rukh Khan wants to be in the show.
Shah Rukh Khan has previously played a superhero in his home production Ra.One, which also starred Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, and others. The film was a sci-fi action thriller that featured Shah Rukh Khan as a video game developer who creates a virtual character that comes to life.

Shah Rukh Khan is currently gearing up for the release of his next film, Dunki, which is directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film is a comedy-drama that revolves around a group of friends who want to go to Canada. The film will clash with Prabhas’ Salaar at the box office on Christmas 2023.
