Shah Rukh Khan’s next big-screen spectacle King has landed a major music coup well before its theatrical campaign begins. The Siddharth Anand directorial is already among Hindi cinema’s most closely tracked future releases, and its audio deal has now added another high-value headline to the film’s early buzz.
Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Zee Music has acquired the music rights of King for over Rs 45 crore. The deal makes it the biggest music rights acquisition for a Shah Rukh Khan film and positions the soundtrack as one of the most valuable Hindi film albums currently in the market.
Zee Music Bags King In A Record Deal
The acquisition marks Zee Music’s return to a major Shah Rukh Khan title after Raees, which released in 2017. That makes the association especially significant, as the label reunites with the superstar after nearly a decade.
For Zee Music, the deal brings a premium film album under its banner at a time when big star-led soundtracks continue to be crucial for digital reach, social media recall and theatrical awareness. For King, the price tag strengthens its event-film positioning even before the full promotional campaign begins.
Earlier in the year, there were reports that theatrical distribution rights of King were sold for 250 crore, creating yet another record.
Inside King’S Star Studded Big Screen Package
King is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment with Marflix Pictures. The action thriller is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026, placing it in the lucrative year-end holiday window.
The film features Shah Rukh Khan alongside Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat and Abhay Verma. It has been mounted as a large scale action drama, with Shah Rukh leading the narrative in a commanding avatar.
The film also carries emotional value for the Khan family, as it brings Shah Rukh and Suhana together in a theatrical feature. Suhana was earlier seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies in 2023, while King gives her a much larger big screen space alongside one of Indian cinema’s biggest stars.
Shah Rukh Khan’S Recent And Upcoming Work
Shah Rukh Khan’s recent theatrical run remains one of the strongest comeback phases in modern Hindi cinema. In 2023, he led Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, which became a major box office blockbuster and revived his action superstar image in spectacular fashion.
He followed it with Atlee’s Jawan, co-starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, another blockbuster that expanded his mass appeal across markets. He ended the same year with Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, co-starring Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal.
His next confirmed theatrical release is King. With Zee Music now entering the picture through a record audio acquisition, the film’s event status has only grown stronger.
