Shahid Kapoor Is Not Part Of Adal Badal After False Casting Reports

Fresh casting chatter around Shahid Kapoor and Adal Badal has been shut down just as quickly as it picked up pace. Online reports recently claimed that the actor had teamed up with director Amit Ravindranath Sharma for the comedy and that the film would go on floors in October 2026. That claim has now been denied.

Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Shahid Kapoor is not part of Adal Badal. The clarification arrives after a wave of false casting reports linked him to the project and even attached financial details to the supposed deal.

The Latest Update On Adal Badal

A source close to the development said, “The reports of Shahid Kapoor being a part of Amit Ravindranath Sharma’s next comedy are completely untrue. These are baseless rumours with no truth to them. Any speculation around his casting in the film is entirely incorrect.”

That statement directly counters earlier claims that Adal Badal would be produced by Sunir Kheterpal in association with Amazon MGM Studios and begin filming in October 2026 with Shahid in the lead. The same reports had also suggested that the actor had signed the film for a fee of Rs 18 crore along with a backend profit sharing arrangement.

For now, the only confirmed update is that Shahid is not attached to the film. In an industry where early casting talk often gathers momentum before official announcements land, this clarification firmly resets the conversation around Adal Badal.

Shahid Kapoor’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Shahid has remained busy across both theatrical and streaming spaces over the last few years. His recent releases include Jersey in 2022, Bloody Daddy in 2023, which premiered on JioCinema, and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya in 2024, where he starred opposite Kriti Sanon. He followed that with Deva in 2025.

Most recently, he was seen in Cocktail 2 in 2026, which the source article describes as having opened to a positive box office response. On the OTT front, Farzi remains a key title in his recent career arc. The first season marked his series debut, and a second season was announced in 2026.

The current clarification around Adal Badal also means attention shifts back to projects that are actually confirmed in Shahid’s slate. Rather than a new comedy with Amit Ravindranath Sharma, the actor’s immediate spotlight stays on the momentum of Cocktail 2 and the return of Farzi for season two. For now, Adal Badal is simply not one of his confirmed films.
