Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor has been in the news years before she made her film debut. The star kid has a strong social media presence where she has millions of followers. She frequently shares her pictures in lovely outfits that create a buzz on the internet. Now, there is a good news for fans who have been waiting to hear about her Bollywood debut.
According to media reports, Karan Johar has decided to cast her in Student of the Year 3. Unlike its previous installments, the film will be released directly on Disney + Hotstar. The film is currently being written and is slated to go on floor in the last quarter of this year. Karan is known for launching starkids has does it again. He has given a launch pad to actresses like Janhvi Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan etc.
Earlier, Karan had congratulated Shanaya for bagging her debut film Vrushabha. Since Karan’s schedule is jam-packed (he is gearing up for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and an action flick), he will be working with her as a producer.
About Student of the Year Franchise
In 2012, Karan Johar directed Student of the Year and it launched three new faces in Bollywood, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. The film was a major critical and commercial success. It’s sequel titled Student of the Year 2, was released in 2019. Unlike the first installment, the second one was directed by Punit Malhotra and starred Tiger Shroff and debutant Tara Sutaria, Ananya Panday. The sequel was a critical and commercial failure.
Shanaya To Make Her Debut With Mohanlal
Shanaya will be making her acting debut with Mohanlal’s pan-India historical epic Vrushabha. The film also stars Salma Agha’s daughter Zahrah S Khan and Roshann Meka who is a known face in the Telugu film industry. The film has Mohanlal playing the lead role and it will be directed by Nanda Kishore. Vrushabha is an epic bilingual action drama film that will be made in Telugu and Malayalam and will be released simultaneously in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor, Abhishek Vyas, Vishal Gurnani, Juhi Parekh Mehta (of First Step Movies), Shyam Sunder, and Connekkt Media’s Varun Mathur.
