Anuj Thapan, one of the accused in the Salman Khan house firing case, passed away after attempting suicide while in the custody of the Mumbai Police. The 23-year-old was found hanging in the lock-up toilet using a bedsheet. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment at GT Hospital.
Thapan hanged himself in the lock-up’s toilet using a bedsheet. He was taken to GT Hospital but was pronounced dead during treatment, according to a PTI report quoting an official. An accidental death report will be filed at Azad Maidan police station in south Mumbai, PTI stated.

Anuj Thapan (23) and another accused, Sonu Subhash Chander, were apprehended by the Mumbai Police in Punjab for their alleged involvement in supplying firearms to the shooters involved in the incident outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. The shooters, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, had been arrested earlier for firing multiple rounds of bullets on April 14.
Salman Khan House Firing Case & Lawrence Bishnoi Connection
The investigation into the case has revealed connections to notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, who are now wanted by the authorities. Anmol Bishnoi had even claimed responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post following the incident.
Before the shooting, the perpetrators had made several attempts to reach Salman Khan’s residence and had also surveilled his farmhouse. Their plan to execute the attack outside the actor’s Galaxy Apartments was formulated due to his prolonged absence from the farmhouse.
Further probing by the Mumbai Crime Branch led to the recovery of a pistol from the river, along with evidence linking one of the arrested shooters, Vicky Gupta, to the escape.
Talking about the actor, Salman Khan us safe despite the intense firing outside his house. He is prepping to work on his next film Sikandar with Sajid Nadiadwala and AR Murugadoss.
