Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor are working together on a new romantic comedy called Param Sundari. This film is produced by Dinesh Vijan‘s Maddock Films, known for the success of Stree 2. Although there have been talks about this project for over a year, it’s finally taking shape.
Sidharth Malhotra & Dinesh Vijan Switch To Rom-Com From Thriller Film For THIS Reason
Originally, Sidharth and Janhvi were supposed to star in a thriller named Spider, directed by Tushar Jalota. However, that project has now been put on hold.
A Peeping Moon report states that both the producer and Sidharth realised the thriller wouldn’t do well at the box office. As audiences now prefer thrillers on streaming platforms, they decided to change direction. They explored new story ideas with Jalota and chose to make a rom-com that excited Janhvi.
The title Param Sundari comes from a well-known song from another Maddock Films project, Mini, which starred Kriti Sanon.
Although the plot details are still secret, it is expected to focus on family themes, similar to hits like Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Sidharth and Janhvi are expected to have great chemistry in the film, which will also include a strong supporting cast.
Sidharth Malhotra To Return To Rom-Com After 10 Years With This Film
This will be Sidharth’s first project with Maddock Films. For Janhvi, it is her second collaboration with them after the disappointing Roohi. This rom-com also marks Sidharth’s return to the genre after more than ten years. His last film, Yodha, didn’t do well at the box office, making this a crucial comeback for him.
Janhvi will start working on Param Sundari after finishing her current projects: Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, featuring Varun Dhawan, and Neeraj Ghaywan’s drama with Ishaan Khatter.
Film To Go On Floors By Year-End
Param Sundari is currently in pre-production and is expected to begin filming in November or December 2024.
Fans of Sidharth and Janhvi are excited to see them together on screen, hoping for an enjoyable and entertaining film. With a good mix of comedy and romance, this film could be another success for Maddock Films.
