In the latest development in the world of Bollywood, it is being reported that actor Sidharth Malhotra may soon star in the Hindi remake of the popular Malayalam coming-of-age romantic drama, Hridayam. While there has been no official confirmation from the makers, sources as per News18, close to the project have claimed that they are keen on casting Malhotra due to his previous successful movies, Shershaah and Mission Majnu.
The Hindi remake of Hridayam was announced last year by Karan Johar, and it was reported that Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of actor Saif Ali Khan, would be making his acting debut in the movie. Reports also suggest that Ibrahim has already started filming for the movie in Kullu-Manali, which will be directed by Boman Irani’s son Kayoze Irani.
The original Malayalam movie, Hridayam, starred Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Darshana Rajendran in the main roles, and it will be interesting to see how the Hindi remake adapts the story for the Hindi-speaking audience.
If Malhotra is indeed cast in the movie, he will be sharing the screen space with Ibrahim, and it will be interesting to see the chemistry between the two actors. Ibrahim has reportedly been working on his physical transformation for the movie, as he is required to have a certain look for his role.
“While Ibrahim has already started preparing for his maiden role, he will start shooting for the film from February. He is required to have a certain look in the film, and is diligently working on his physical transformation. Meanwhile, readings and workshops are going on simultaneously,” Pinkvilla’s source had said.
Fans of both Sidharth Malhotra and Ibrahim Ali Khan will surely be eagerly awaiting further updates on this exciting project.
