As the anticipated action thriller Sikandar gears up to roll the cameras by the end of June, Salman Khan is set to dive deep into the world of stunts and combat.
Last month, reports indicated that the film is slated to commence its shoot around June 27. With just three weeks left, the leading man is getting ready for the challenging journey under the helm of director AR Murugadoss.
Salman Khan Is Expected To Jet Off To Chennai For Fight Rehearsals
Sources close to the production reveal that the superstar is scheduled to jet off to Chennai this week as part of the film’s intense preparation. The agenda? Extensive fight rehearsals and rigorous training sessions.
Despite his extensive three-decade-plus career, Salman Khan, known for his action-packed roles, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure he delivers an unforgettable performance in Sikandar.
“In Sikandar, Salman portrays a character that requires a high level of physicality and combat skills. While he began his physical prep last month focusing on agility and movement, Murugadoss utilised the time to rope in some of his favourite action choreographers. They have designed elaborate fight sequences that Salman needs to perfect over the next few weeks. This phase is critical not only for the actor but also for the entire stunt team to coordinate and ensure safety during filming,” a source disclosed to Mid-day.
Besides Chennai, some rehearsals will also take place in Hyderabad. Sikandar, marking Khan’s maiden collaboration with the filmmaker, also stars Rashmika Mandanna.

The film’s production will span across various locations, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, and several sites in Europe. While the specific details of the filming schedule and exact locations remain under wraps, the excitement surrounding the project is palpable.
Murugadoss intends to kick off the filming by prioritising the action sequences. The action directors have fine-tuned the high-intensity scenes, and Salman Khan, renowned for performing his own stunts, is already gearing up for the physical demands of the role. A source revealed in a previous interview, “Salman insists on doing action himself. He has modified his workout regimen to develop a chiselled physique.”
Sikandar marks AR Murugadoss’ return to Hindi cinema after an eight-year hiatus since Akira in 2016. The film also reunites Salman Khan with producer Sajid Nadiadwala, known for blockbuster hits like Kick, Judwaa, and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
