On Monday morning, the makers of Rohit Shetty’s next movie Cirkus unveiled a teaser-cum-trailer. Ranveer Singh plays a dual part in the movie, which is an adaptation of A Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare. Ranveer and the rest of the actors explain the film’s USP and why it’s advantageous that it is set in the “simple” 1960s in the teaser.
The entire ensemble is shown conversing with the audience while sitting outside a circus in the teaser, which does not feature any footage from the movie. The 1960s were introduced to the audience by Sanjay Mishra and Johnny Lever as the “good old days,” when there was no breaking news and children asked their grandparents for answers rather than Googling them. Then, two Ranveer Singh’s appear as they explain that Cirkus is about a time when parents’ love was more important than social media likes.

“Since the film is a comedy of error that results from mistaken identity due to the double role of two characters in the film, Rohit and his team decided to set the film in an era that was devoid of mobile phones and all other modern gadgets. After contemplating on the time frame, they finally zeroed in on 1967 as the era to be recreated in Cirkus,” said Bollywood Hungama’s source.
India’s 1960s fashion is still recognisable today. This movie will revive the flavour of traditional Bollywood. based on the sources, “The fashion statement will be pretty out there. The popular styles including hem of the kameez will go shorter as the actors will don bright colour costumes. The body-hugging silhouettes, skin-tight kurtas and blouses, anarkalis, polka dots, poofy hair were quite the rage in the 60s and the actresses are expected to infuse those styles through their bright coloured outfits. Following the theme, one can reportedly expect the actresses to go all out with bold makeup, winged eyeliners, scarves, bouffant hairstyles like Asha Parekh. One is also hearing that one of the actresses might even sport the iconic fringe look called the Sadhana Cut.”
The narrative of a set of identical twins who are split apart at birth will have two roles for Ranveer Singh. Varun Sharma will play the assistants for both of his characters. When the four of them eventually meet paths, it will result in a classic case of misunderstanding and mistaken identification. The comedy of errors is a well-known play, and Rohit Shetty has adapted it into a movie.
Cirkus will be Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh’s third collaboration following the huge success of Simmba and their appearance in Sooryavanshi.
