The production of the Hindi adaptation of actor Suriya’s Tamil film Soorarai Pottru was recently halted by the Madras high court. Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment were set to produce the remake. Suriya and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment produced the Tamil film, which was based on Captain G.R. Gopinath’s book Simply Fly – A Deccan Odyssey.

Guneet filed a complaint with the Madras High Court against Suriya over the film’s remake rights, including in Hindi. Guneet claimed that she and Suriya planned to remake the Tamil film in Hindi jointly. Suriya, on the other hand, made a bargain with Abundantia without Guneet’s permission. He also failed to meet his commitments under the original deal with Guneet.
