The trailer of the much-awaited film Merry Christmas, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, was released on Wednesday. The film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, is a quirky romantic comedy about a Christmas eve date gone wrong.

The trailer opens with Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, who play strangers, meeting for a date on Christmas Eve. The two seem to hit it off, but things take a hilarious turn when they get involved in a series of mishaps, including a car chase, a robbery, a kidnapping, and a murder. The trailer promises a lot of fun, action, and twists, as the two try to survive the night and find love in the process.
The film is shot in both Hindi and Tamil, with different supporting actors in the two versions. The Hindi version co-stars Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan and Tinnu Anand. The Tamil version, meanwhile, has Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu and Rajesh Williams in the same roles. Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte also have cameo appearances in the film.

The film, produced by Tips Films and Matchbox Pictures, was initially scheduled to release in 2022, but was postponed many times. It is Raghavan’s first bi-lingual film after Andhadhun. Raghavan, known for acclaimed films like Johnny Gaddaar, Badlapur, and Andhadhun, has described his new film as a ‘love story’ and different from his previous works.
