‘SRK And Salman’s Post-Credit Scene Wasn’t Written In The Script But Was Added By Aditya Chopra’: Shridhar Raghavan Speaks On ‘Pathaan’. Details Inside!

It's interesting to note that Aditya Chopra added the post-credit scene rather than having it in the original script.

Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback to the big screen as ‘Pathaan’, has absolutely shattered all the previous box office records. The movie ‘Pathaan’ has become the first hindi film ever to enter the 400Cr Nett club. Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana, and Dimple Kapadia are also playing pivotal roles in the movie. People can’t help but talk loudly about the meta moments as the movie business celebrates the megastar’s comeback and the movie’s massive success. When the two superstars, often referred to as Karan – Arjun of Indian cinema, came together for an action-packed sequence, the whole theater turned into a screaming contest. Salman Khan has played a cameo in ‘Pathaan’. SRK and Salman do appear in an interesting post-credit scene as well, which is quite entertaining. The whole nation is loving the reunion of both.

It’s interesting to note that Aditya Chopra added the post-credit scene rather than having it in the original script. It was intended to be included in the scene with the train sequence. Uday Chopra, however, suggested that it be included after the movie when he watched the edit.

In an interview with Indian Express, Shridhar Raghavan stated, “The last scene when Shah Rukh and Salman are talking, when I saw the film even, I was taken aback because I hadn’t written it! It wasn’t there in my script draft. That Adi sir did. When he had thought of it, it was added somewhere else in the, right after the train sequence. But I think when they were discussing the edit, Uday (Chopra) came up with the idea that this might work in the end! So it was collaborative.”

“In the trailer there’s a torture sequence that Shah Rukh goes through—maybe they’ll release it later on YouTube—and in the film there were many scenes which we wrote on paper but never shot. Every character in the JOCR squad has a huge back story, which we wrote. We then thought we don’t require it in this particular film, but it was important for us because someday when we’ll do something else with these characters, it’ll also help the actors because they’d know these characters inside out. It was great fun.” Shridhar added while talking about the back story and torture train sequence in ‘Pathaan’.

Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, has become his most successful film in the YRF Spy Universe! He has also directed some super blockbuster hit movies like, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ and ‘War’.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan has two more films coming out this year: Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ will be released in December 2023, while Atlee Kumar’s ‘Jawan’ will hit the theatres in June 2023.
