SS Rajamouli’s next big project SSMB 29 starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra has fans buzzing with excitement. While the film remains shrouded in secrecy, new reports hint at possible title options.
According to recent buzz, Rajamouli is considering two names – Garuda and Maharaj.

A report by Times Now claims that Maharaj is his ideal choice. However, the makers haven’t confirmed anything yet, leaving fans eagerly awaiting an official announcement.
Beyond the title, the film’s storyline is drawing major attention. Reports suggest that SSMB 29 is heavily inspired by the works of British-South African novelist Wilbur Smith.
Smith is known for his thrilling adventure stories and his influence could shape the film into a gripping cinematic journey. Given Rajamouli’s worldwide recognition post-RRR, the director is reportedly aiming to deliver a film that appeals to a global audience.
The project promises breathtaking visuals, with major sequences set to be filmed in Africa and Kenya’s dense forests. Additionally, key scenes will be shot inside Hyderabad’s Aluminium Factory.
SSMB 29 Is A Two-Part Adventure Film
To maintain secrecy, Rajamouli has reportedly enforced a strict non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for the cast and crew. This ensures that no vital details are leaked before official announcements.
Production officially kicked off with a muhurat pooja on January 2, 2025, at Hyderabad’s Aluminium Factory. The film is planned as a two-part saga with the first instalment expected in 2027 and the second in 2029.
Earlier, reports suggested that John Abraham had been approached for a role. Initially, there was speculation that he might replace Prithviraj Sukumaran. However, some sources later confirmed that Prithviraj remains part of the project and Abraham will play a different character if he joins the cast.
