Shraddha Kapoor is riding high after the success of Stree 2. She’s just hit a huge social media milestone, surpassing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to become the third most-followed Indian on Instagram.
As of 11:40 AM on August 21, 2024, Kapoor’s follower count is 91,486,828, just ahead of Modi’s 91,390,802.

She is now only behind Priyanka Chopra, who is in second place with 91.8 million followers, and cricketer Virat Kohli, who leads with a massive 271 million followers.
The top ten also include Alia Bhatt with 85.1 million, Katrina Kaif with 80.4 million, Deepika Padukone with 79.8 million, and Neha Kakkar with 78.7 million. Kakkar is the most-followed Indian singer on Instagram.
In comparison, Salman Khan, the top Indian actor on Instagram, is in tenth place with 69.3 million followers.
On other social platforms, Modi remains a leader. He is the most-followed global leader on X (formerly Twitter), with 101.2 million followers, ahead of figures like US President Joe Biden, Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed, and Pope Francis. Indian politicians Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal have 26.7 million and 27.6 million followers on X, respectively.
