The trailer for Shraddha Kapoor‘s Stree 2 has taken the internet by storm, crossing 100 million views across all platforms within just 24 hours of its release. Launched yesterday at 2 p.m., the trailer has sparked significant buzz, setting high expectations for the film’s performance at the Indian box office.
Sharing the celebratory post, the makers wrote, “The biggest horror-comedy of the year just got bigger with your love!”
The Huge Buzz Surrounding Stree 2
Stree 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, which was a surprise success and received mostly positive reviews. The sequel has naturally garnered a lot of attention, with fans eagerly anticipating its release. The trailer’s performance reflects this excitement, as it quickly climbed the trending charts on YouTube.
By 10:30 am. the day after its release, the trailer had amassed nearly 19.79 million views on YouTube alone. It has received 307,000 likes and currently holds the #2 trending spot on the platform. The enthusiastic response is a clear indicator of the film’s anticipated success.
What To Expect From Stree 2
Well, the trailer for Stree 2 has been praised for its blend of horror and comedy. It picks up where the 2018 film left off, with the town of Chanderi still haunted by the ghost of Stree. This time, the townspeople face a new threat: Sarkata, a headless monster.
The trailer features Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana, who return to combat this new evil with Stree’s help. Pankaj Tripathi’s character, Rudra Bhaiya, introduces Sarkata to the residents of Chanderi, who now pray, “O Stree raksha karna,” instead of the previous “O Stree kal aana.” Shraddha Kapoor reprises her role, presumably now aiding the villagers as the once-evil spirit.
The trailer is a mix of spooky visuals and hilarious one-liners. One amusing moment features Rudra Bhaiya calling Sarkata an influencer, humorously claiming he’s only in Chanderi to boost his follower count.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the fifth instalment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. This franchise also includes Roohi (2021), Bhediya (2022), and the upcoming Munjya (2024). The universe is known for its interconnected storylines and recurring characters.
The original Stree ended on a cliffhanger, with Shraddha Kapoor’s character holding a ponytail linked to the evil spirit.
