Suniel Shetty Slams Industry Negativity Around Son Ahan: “He Was Thrown Out Of Films, I’ll Expose Them All”

Suniel Shetty breaks silence on industry negativity surrounding Ahan Shetty, revealing the actor was dropped from films and defamed for choosing Border 2.

Suniel Shetty Speaks Out on Industry Backlash Against Son Ahan Shetty

Veteran actor Suniel Shetty has spoken out about the behind-the-scenes backlash against his son Ahan Shetty, who made his big screen debut in the 2021 action-romance film Tadap. In a bombshell new interview, Suniel accused a number of players in the industry of not only damaging Ahan’s image but also enabling a smear campaign against him, which forced Ahan out of a handful of films.

As he prepares for his next film, Border 2 — the sequel to JP Dutta’s patriotic-performance film Border — Ahan Shetty has largely been away from the silver screen — for good reason, according to his father.

Ahan Was Replaced Because Of Press-Driven Negativity, Says Suniel

Suniel Shetty said during a recent interview that shady narratives with schooling dollars behind them within the media cost Ahan a couple of career milestones. He indicated that stories were in the press about Ahan’s demand for a large entourage and having an unprofessional demeanour — things he also denied entirely.

“People paid a lot of money for the negative articles… You think I don’t know people? You think I couldn’t do the same?” he said.

Suniel also stated that Ahan turned down other work to focus on Border 2 and that this upset many people in the industry, who were supposedly trying to destroy Ahan’s career due to THEIR spite, ego and insecurity.

“Don’t Treat Border 2 As If It’s Your Last Film,” Suniel Told Ahan

In a very touching father-son moment, Suniel revealed he told Ahan to treat Border 2 as if it could be his last film, not because of pessimism about his career but because of how deeply ingrained in future generations the legacy of the Border franchise will be.

“It will keep him alive in the memory of the audience for decades like the first Border kept me alive,” Suniel added.

The film’s patriotic values reflect Ahan’s interests, even though he had strong commercial offers for other films.

Suniel Shetty Will Hold A Press Conference If Attacks Continue

Perhaps the most shocking thing Suniel said in his interview was his warning: if the disgusting campaign against Ahan continues, he won’t hesitate to name names and shame them in public.

“If this continues, I will have a press conference and I will expose everybody,” he declared,
Jiski dhajjiyan udani hain, uda dunga.

He has also reaffirmed his middle-class roots with the declaration:

“I still pay for my own food. I’ve raised Ahan like that — with humility and self-respect.”

BoxOfficeWorldwide Verdict

While mercurial image games, not-so-silent politics and character defamation are all too commonplace in the film industry, Suniel Shetty’s shock-and-awe truth bomb serves to shed harsh light on how jealousy, power games, entitlement and ineffective leadership within the industry can derail careers — especially the careers of newcomers.

Ahan Shetty’s fate now rests in the hands of Border 2, a film filled with legacy and emotion. And if the negativity continues, Suniel just might turn this behind-the-scenes drama into a sell-out national event.

One thing is for certain — the ‘anna’ of Bollywood will not stay quiet any longer.
