Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is known for his impressive performances and undeniable charm. Recently, he shared his thoughts on his natural sense of humour and why he feels it’s best to hold back in today’s sensitive climate.
Shah Rukh Khan On Playing Safe With His Sense Of Humour
In an interview with the Locarno Film Festival for their YouTube channel, Shah Rukh opened up about his ability to make people laugh. While he has a knack for humour, he noted that it often comes at the wrong time. He explained that his team frequently advises him to keep his jokes to himself, as not everyone might find them funny.
“Now people have become very sensitive. You say something, and everybody, somebody gets disturbed. It’s better to not have a sense of humour,” Shah Rukh remarked.
His concern reflects the current social environment, where many people are easily offended, making it tricky to know what might upset someone. He feels that in such a climate, it’s often wiser to avoid humour altogether to prevent misunderstandings.
Superstar FEELS Comedy Is One Of The Most Difficult Genre
Shah Rukh also expressed that comedy is one of the most difficult genres in acting. He admitted he hasn’t quite mastered it, saying, “It’s the one that there’s most actors failed. It’s where I have failed.”
He considers comedy a ‘serious business,’ acknowledging that even some of the best actors have struggled with it.
Shah Rukh Khan: Work Front
On the professional side, Shah Rukh’s latest film was Dunki, released in 2023. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film features Taapsee Pannu alongside him. Fans are eagerly anticipating his next project, King, an action thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
This film will not only star Shah Rukh but also his daughter, Suhana Khan, as well as Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma. It is set to hit theatres on Eid 2026.
In addition to his main roles, Shah Rukh is expected to make a special appearance in Aryan Khan’s directorial web series Stardom.
