In his recent appearance on Koffee With Karan season 7, Vicky Kaushal had called Shah Rukh Khan the biggest star of India, and right so. The frenzy around his performance in Brahmastra is proof that he remains to be the king of Bollywood.
Known for his humble and down-to-Earth nature, Shah Rukh Khan has left a long-lasting impression on whosoever he has crossed paths with.
This happened when Vicky Kaushal who was riding high on the success of Uri: The Surgical Strike was hosting the awards night along with the King Khan.
Vicky’s father had told Etimes, “Vicky and Shah Rukh bhai were hosting the show. If I go to an award function, I sit wherever they tell me to sit. I had gone to that show because my son was co-hosting it. SRK and Vicky came to the stage and SRK started talking stuff that was not in the script and he asked whether I am in the audience. I was sitting in the 5th or 6th row with my wife.”
He added, “All the cameras turned to me. SRK told Vicky, ‘When I was new in the industry, your father taught me a lot.’ He went on to reveal a lot more. Everyone’s focus was on us. I got so emotional that I felt like crying. With God’s grace, I have received many awards in my career, but I will never forget that moment at Filmfare”.
Sham Kaushal later asked his son if this was a part of the script. Vicky revealed to him that it wasn’t. He also informed that SRK asked him if Sham and Veena were attending the awards night.
For the unversed, born in Mirzapur, Punjab, Sham Kaushal was working as a sales representative when he met a stunt director who worked in big Bollywood movie. That’s what paved his way into the industry. For seven years, he worked as stunt director before he landed the job of an action director in 1990. The journey continues with all the big directors in the industry swear by his professionalism.
