Taapsee Pannu has made a name for herself in Bollywood. Starting out with South cinema, she made her Hindi debut in 2013 and has since then championed a certain kind of film. She has done both, medium-budget as well as big-budget films. But probably the biggest film of her career has to be the upcoming Rajkumar Hirani-directed Dunki, which stars Shah Rukh Khan.
Taapsee has a strong social media presence where she interacts with her fans. In a recent Q&A session on Instagram, a fan asked her about any updates on Dunki. In response, the actress said: “I just know that I have to shoot for few days, and for more details I think you should ask Rajkumar Hirani, the director of the film. I think only he knows what exactly is happening and when the first look will come out and whatever. I am just like going there shooting and coming back and I am just happy that I am a part of that film.”
In the past, Taapsee has talked about how it was surreal for her to realize that she had landed the lead role in Dunki. The film will mark the first collaboration between Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan. In the past, Hirani had reportedly approached Shah Rukh for his first film Munna Bhai MBBS, but the actor could not do it for some reason.
About Dunki
Dunki is a comedy-drama film directed by Rajkumar Hirani and written by Rajkumar, Kanika Dhillon, and Abhijat Joshi. The film explores the issue of illegal immigration and the title is derived from Donkey flights, a term which means entering a country illegally. Shah Rukh has said that the film is about people who are returning home. Dunki will release theatrically on 22 December.
Taapsee’s Upcoming Films
Taapsee is shooting for two Tamil films, Jana Gana Mana and Alien. Apart from these two, she will be also seen in a film called Woh Ladki Hai Kahan? She will be reprising her role in Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, which is a sequel to Haseen Dilruba. The film will release sometime in 2024. So it’s suffice to say that Taapsee is keeping herself very busy these days.
