Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films is bringing a vampire movie Thama starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film is set for a big Diwali 2025 release. The makers have now locked the teaser and it is ready to roll for the audiences.
Thama Teaser Gets CBFC Certification
As per the latest reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared a 47-second teaser of Thama with a U certificate. The teaser is expected to debut in cinemas and play alongside Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna starrer Chhaava.
As Chhaava releases in theatres soon, it will help them build hype for Thama, which arrives months later.
This makes sense as both films are produced by Maddock Films. This strategy will boost excitement for Thama, especially among cinema audiences. After its theatrical debut, the teaser will also be released online for a wider audience.
Ayushmann Enters Maddock’s Horror Universe With This Film
Ayushmann Khurrana is stepping into Maddock Films’ horror-comedy world, which already includes Stree and Bhediya. In Thama, he plays a vampire and brings a new twist to the genre. He had earlier said that the film would be a game-changer and promised a unique experience.
The film also marks Ayushmann’s second collaboration with producer Dinesh Vijan after Bala. He shared that both he and Dinesh enjoy creating something fresh and different. Their last project Bala was widely praised for its originality. Ayushmann believes Thama will surprise audiences with its fresh storytelling.
He also found the idea of a ‘bloody’ love story exciting, adding to the intrigue around the film.
Along with Ayushmann and Rashmika, the film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a key role. It was earlier titled Vampires of Vijay Nagar. The story follows a historian who studies ancient manuscripts to uncover secrets about vampire legends.
Reports also suggest that the film will have special appearances from characters in Maddock’s horror universe.
