Raanjhanaa and Tanu Weds Manu director Aanand L Rai is ready to wow audiences again with his upcoming project Tere Ishk Mein. This film will reunite him with actor Dhanush and promises an intense story of love and obsession. It seems like viewers will finally know who will play the female lead opposite Dhanush.
The casting rumours have been growing for months, and a recent teaser from Colour Yellow Productions has sparked even more excitement.
Tere Ishk Mein Teaser Dropped
The teaser features a mysterious voiceover from an unnamed actress, saying, “Shankar, Ishq mein sirf ladke hi marte hai kya? Kuch ladkiya bhi kaleja rakhti hai jaan dene ka.”
Sharing the video featuring Dhanush in intense avatar, Aanand L Rai wrote, “Ishq mein sawaal. Ishq mein jawaab. Chup rahna muhaal. Keh dena bawaal…Der se sahi par heroine ka jawaab aaya hai…kal sunna zaroor…❤️🔥”

Kriti Sanon To Be Confirmed As Female Lead?
Though the female lead hasn’t been officially confirmed, many believe that Kriti Sanon is in talks for the role. Reports from last year suggested that she was in advanced discussions, and recent sightings of her at Rai’s office with a script have only added to the rumours.
If Kriti is announced, it will be her first time working with both Dhanush and Aanand L. Rai, making fans and critics very excited.
Tere Ishk Mein Is Deeply Connected To The World Of Raanjhanaa
Rai has shared that Tere Ishk Mein will be deeply connected to the world of Raanjhanaa, his 2013 hit. He explained, “It is from the world of Raanjhanaa, but… it’s an expansion rather than an extension. It enhances the emotional depth with a new narrative.” The film will explore similar themes of love and tragedy while telling a new story with fresh characters.
The script, written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, is expected to keep the passionate energy of Raanjhanaa. Rai has promised that while Tere Ishk Mein will have a similar emotional feel, it will be a completely different story.
“While you may get the fragrance of Raanjhanaa in terms of its feel and energy, this is a different story altogether,” he said.
The team behind the film includes Dhanush, AR Rahman, lyricist Irshad Kamil, and writer Himanshu Sharma. Tere Ishk Mein is set to begin production in October 2024, with a release expected in 2025.
