Delay In Release Of Jana Nayagan

Returning to Jana Nayagan, during the hearing on January 7, Senior Advocate Satish Parasaran, representing KVN Productions before the Madras High Court, stated, “After viewing the film, the member could have only made suggestions. The member has now taken on the role of the complainant. I am unsure how that occurs. Even if one member has concerns, it still constitutes a 4:1 majority. How can the viewpoint of one member serve as the foundation for a review?”

Additionally, the court questioned the CBFC for failing to notify the producers of Jana Nayaganregarding the decision to send the film for review. Justice PT Asha remarked that the Examining Committee’s objections had been previously addressed, edits were made, and objectionable language was muted, yet the CBFC opted to delay the issuance of the certificate.
