Thangalaan Inches Closer To Rs 30 Cr On 1st Weekend Amid Average Run At The Box Office
The film opened with a decent Rs 13.3 crore on its first day, but the momentum didn’t last long. By its second day, Thangalaan saw a sharp decline, with collections dropping by nearly 65%, bringing in only Rs 4.75 crore.
This drop signalled a tough road ahead for the film. However, the third day saw a slight improvement, with an 18.95% growth, as it earned Rs 5.65 crore.
As the weekend wrapped up, Thangalaan managed to maintain its pace on Sunday, earning another Rs 5.65 crore, bringing its first weekend total to Rs 29.35 crore.

The film saw decent occupancy rates over the weekend, with 40.63% for its Tamil version and 38.41% for its Telugu version. Chennai and Bengaluru were the key markets, with the Tamil version performing best in Chennai and the Telugu version in Bengaluru.
Globally, Thangalaan has earned Rs 35.2 crore, but it still lags behind its competitors like Double iSmart and Mr Bachchan.
