The Diplomat: John Abraham Starrer Political Thriller Faces Ban In THESE Middle-East Countries For Undisclosed Reasons

John Abraham starrer The Diplomat has been banned in multiple Middle East countries reportedly due to its political themes.

John Abraham’s latest political thriller The Diplomat has hit a major roadblock in the Middle East. Reports confirm that the film will not be released in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar.

Officials have not given a reason for the ban, but sources suggest that the film’s political themes could be a factor.

The Diplomat Is Latest Bollywood Film To Face Censorship Issues In The Middle East

This is not the first time a Bollywood film has faced a ban in the Gulf. Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 was banned in Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar due to concerns about its portrayal of Muslim characters. Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force also faced similar restrictions in several Middle Eastern countries.

So far, the filmmakers and authorities have not commented on the situation. However, the ban shows the challenges Bollywood faces in securing a global release while dealing with different cultural and political sensitivities.

What is This Film About?

The Diplomat is based on real events and follows the story of Indian diplomat JP Singh, who led a daring mission to rescue Uzma Ahmed, an Indian woman forced into marriage in Pakistan. Shivam Nair directed the film, while Ritesh Shah wrote the script.

The film was released on March 14 and has sparked discussions about its intense plot and its take on India-Pakistan relations.

Despite censorship troubles, the film has been gaining attention. John Abraham delivers a powerful performance in the lead role. The cast also includes Sadia Khateeb and Sharib Hashmi in key roles.

Produced by T-Series, JA Entertainment, Wakaoo Films, and Fortune Pictures, The Diplomat adds to John Abraham’s growing list of thrillers. The ban may impact the film’s global box office performance, but it has only increased audience curiosity. It remains to be seen if the ban will be lifted.

Have you watched the film in theatres? If not, when are you planning to?
