What happens when Prabhas returns to the big screen with a horror comedy? The CBFC takes a closer look at every scene. The much awaited film The Raja Saab has finally cleared the censor board, but not without a few modifications to some intense sequences.
CBFC Makes Two Key Changes In The Raja Saab
The Central Board of Film Certification has passed Prabhas’s upcoming film with some modifications. The good news is that all the romantic scenes and dialogues have been kept intact. However, two gory sequences faced the censor scissors.
The first modification involves a scene where blood is being washed on the floor. The CBFC asked the makers to convert this sequence to monochrome, meaning it will now appear in black and white instead of colour. The second change involves a beheading scene, which has been shortened by 4 seconds and reduced to flash visuals.
The Raja Saab Gets U/A 16+ Certificate
After these modifications were made, the Examining Committee passed The Raja Saab with a U/A 16+ certificate on December 24, 2025. The film has a runtime of 189 minutes, which means audiences will enjoy 3 hours and 9 minutes of horror comedy entertainment.
The Maruthi directorial releases on January 9 and will clash with Vijay Thalapathy’s Tamil film Jana Nayagan at the box office. Interestingly, Jana Nayagan is also over 3 hours long with a reported runtime of 3 hours and 3 minutes.
Star Studded Cast Joins Prabhas
Besides Prabhas, The Raja Saab boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani play pivotal roles in the film. The female leads include Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar. Veteran actress Zarina Wahab also features in this horror romantic entertainer.
