After watching the classic movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) at least 20 times, superstar Ranbir Kapoor, who is returning to the big screen as the archetypal romantic hero in the much anticipated ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’, claims Raj inspired him to portray attractive romantic man in movies.
In an episode of ‘The Romantics’ Ranbir said, “Raj was everything! You know, he could do anything! I think Aditya Chopra gave us a character that was aspirational, he was naughty, he was charming, like it shook you up! I know I saw that film probably 20 times in the theatre!” The ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ actor won a million hearts in super hit romantic blockbuster films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Rockstar, Tamasha and Saawariya.

The fan obsession and love for Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s chemistry is absolutely never ending. The movie still runs at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir, DDLJ is truly a blockbuster massive hit Indian movie with the longest-running history.
The universally praised Netflix documentary series ‘The Romantics’ is made up of heartfelt talk sessions between Ranbir and several other popular bollywood actors in which they talk about the impact of Yash Raj Films and Hindi cinema on people’s lives. The docuseries pays homage to Yash Chopra’s heritage, YRF’s cultural influence over Indians in the past 50 years, and their collective legacy. ‘The Romantics’, a rare achievement for a documentary, quickly rose to the top of the Netflix trending list within 48 hours of its release, demonstrating the overwhelming national support for Yash Chopra and YRF.

The megastars and legends of Hindi cinema, including Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma, united together and discusses about Yash Chopra and YRF’s contribution to Indian cinema in ‘The Romantics’. The series is directed by the Oscar and Emmy nominated filmmaker Smrithi Mundhra.

It’s interesting to note that Aditya Chopra, the reclusive head of Yash Raj Pictures, was also gently requested to have his first ever on-camera interview for ‘The Romantics’! His views regarding YRF and the Hindi film industry in this documentary are a major draw for the film community, cinephiles, and the Hindi film audience at large.
On February 14, Valentine’s Day, Netflix launched ‘The Romantics’ as a tribute to Yash Chopra, known in India as the ‘Father of Romance’ for his classic romantic comedies including Silsila, Lamhe, Kabhi Kabhie, Veer-Zaara, Dil To Pagal Hai, Chandni, and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
Meanwhile, The fourth film in YRF’s Spy Universe, ‘Pathaan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, is now breaking all the past box office records, putting YRF at an all-time high. With a current worldwide gross collection of 996 crore, Pathaan has surpassed all other Hindi films to become the most successful movie of all time!
