Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia‘s The Vvaan has scored a rare censor milestone just days before its theatrical release. The Central Board of Film Certification has cleared the fantasy drama without a single cut or modification, giving the film a U/A 16+ certificate ahead of its September 25, 2026 release.

Nearly every film goes through at least minor changes during certification, whether it is visual trims, dialogue alterations, disclaimer additions or mandatory tickers. The Vvaan has emerged as an exception. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the film was passed by the Examining Committee with zero cuts or modifications in both audio and video.
Even routine additions often suggested during certification, such as title cards in the language of the film or anti-drug messaging before the screening and during intermission, were not sought in this case. The censor certificate lists the film’s runtime at 136.25 minutes, which puts it at just over two hours and 16 minutes.
That clean clearance gives The Vvaan an extra talking point as it heads into cinemas on September 25, 2026, a date the makers had officially locked earlier this year.
A Folklore Fantasy Backed By Tvf And Balaji
Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with TVF and 11:11 Productions, The Vvaan brings together an interesting blend of creative voices. The film is written by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Deepak Mishra, with Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia leading the cast.
Positioned as a folklore fantasy adventure, the film leans into mystery, humour and large-scale world-building. Its universe has already been expanded through The Legend of Vvaan comic book, which introduced the broader mythology around the story. The cast lineup also includes names such as Maniesh Paul, Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari and Anup Soni.
With its blend of commercial scale and folklore-rooted storytelling, The Vvaan is aiming for a family audience while also trying to open a larger fantasy universe on the big screen.
