Prabhas is a pan-India star. His stardom sky-rocketed after the massive success of SS Rajamouli’s Baahbubali. Now, one of his upcoming films is the action thriller film Salaar. Directed by Prashanth Neel (of KGF fame), the film is slated to release on 28 September. However, not all is rosy for this highly anticipated and big-budget project.
According to reports, the theatrical rights deal of the film has hit a roadblock as the makers are asking for a whopping 200 crore. This amount is equivalent to what RRR received and it is also the budget of Salaar. However, the buyers are reluctant to pay that amount for the Telugu state. For the Nizam region, the makers of Salaar are reportedly asking for 72 crores. For the Ceded region, the amount is around 35 crores and for the Andhra region, the amount that is being demanded is 90 crores.
The reluctance is probably because of the poor response to Prabhas’ last outing, Adipurush. The film met with an overwhelmingly negative response and underperformed at the box office.

It stars Prabhas in the titular role; Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, and Ramachandra Raju also appear in important roles. The film’s teaser was released recently and it has created a buzz on the internet. Salaar is slated to release on 28 September.
