Allu Aravind has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding his alleged dig at Ram Charan’s Game Changer. The veteran producer addressed the issue during a press conference in Hyderabad, clarifying that his words were misinterpreted.
Aravind faces severe social media backlash after comments he made at the Thandel pre-release event went viral. Many believed he was mocking Game Changer’s reported struggles. However, he has finally issued a clarification and stated that there was no such intention.
Allu Aravind CLARIFIES His Statement Amid Severe Backlash
Speaking at the press conference, he said, “This is emotional and personal to me, I need to address this. That day, when I addressed Dil Raju, I only meant that he saw loss and gain within a week. I was trolled so much for it, but the implication of it was unintentional.”
He further emphasised that his relationship with Ram Charan remains strong. “Charan is like my son…he is my only menalludu (sister’s son), I am his only mavayya (maternal uncle). Our relationship is excellent, so please leave it alone. I understand now that I should not have brought it up at all.”
Aravind refused to answer any further questions on the matter. He made it clear that he wanted to put an end to the speculation.
Here’s How It Started
The controversy started when Aravind jokingly addressed producer Dil Raju at the Thandel event. He said, “Dil Raju made history recently. One of his movies was like this (gesturing down, hinting at Game Changer), while another was like this (gesturing up, referring to Sankranthiki Vasthunnam). He got raided by Income Tax (department). A lot happened in a week.”
The remark did not sit well with Mega family fans, who believed it was a direct reference to Game Changer’s alleged underperformance. Adding fuel to the fire, an old video of his son Allu Arjun resurfaced online, in which he admitted to celebrating when a film flopped.
Despite the online chaos, Aravind insists that his words were not meant to target his nephew. With his latest clarification, he hopes to end the debate once and for all.
Meanwhile, Aravind’s latest production Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, is currently playing in theatres and drawing positive reviews.
