The investigation into the firing on Tiger Shroff’s car has entered a far more serious phase, with Mumbai Crime Branch formally re-arresting all 11 accused under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, or MCOCA. The move came on Wednesday after a special court granted permission to proceed under the stringent law, sharply escalating a case that had already drawn intense attention because of its target.
The accused were produced before the special MCOCA court after the Crime Branch added the tougher provisions a day earlier. Once the court allowed the prosecution’s application, all 11 were re-arrested under MCOCA and are set to be produced again on Thursday, October 29, when investigators are expected to seek police remand.
Latest Court Move In The Tiger Shroff Firing Case
The case stems from the October 18, 2026 shooting in Mumbai’s Juhu area, when two assailants allegedly opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s vehicle as he was leaving a football ground. Five rounds were fired in the attack. Tiger escaped largely unhurt, but his driver and a bystander sustained injuries.
The FIR, registered on October 19, 2026, initially invoked attempt to murder and common intention provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with charges under the Arms Act. The addition of MCOCA now places the case in a tougher legal bracket, bringing stricter bail conditions and giving investigators a wider time frame to file the chargesheet, subject to judicial approval.
Police Probe Expands To Wider Conspiracy
The case has widened beyond the immediate shooting. Members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility for the attack, and police have named Anil Pandit, described as an associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, as a wanted accused.
Of the 11 accused arrested so far, three were held in Kota, Rajasthan, while others were picked up from Delhi, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Investigators suspect the firing was part of a broader organised criminal conspiracy linked to fear, territorial influence and financial dominance, making the use of MCOCA a significant step in the probe.
Tiger Shroff’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Tiger was most recently seen in Baaghi 4 in 2025, after appearing in Singham Again and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in 2024, a run that kept him firmly in the action space even as this off-screen episode unfolded around him.
For now, though, the focus is squarely on the legal battle ahead. With the accused returning to court on October 29, the Crime Branch’s decision to invoke MCOCA has turned the case into a much larger organised crime investigation, one that could shape both the pace and seriousness of the proceedings in the days ahead.
