“Top Gun: Maverick truly epitomizes the magic of the moviegoing experience, and we wanted to provide fans the opportunity to once again enjoy this cinematic spectacle as it was meant to be seen,” Chris Aronson, head of domestic distribution at Paramount Pictures, makes this statement.

“This feels like the perfect time to bring Top Gun: Maverick back to theaters so audiences everywhere can once again experience how special this film is.” The re-release, which is only available in the United States, concludes one week before Maverick premieres on Paramount+ on December 22 and leaves theatres soon before 20th Century’s blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water debuts on December 16.

Top Gun: Maverick, which was directed by Joseph Kosinski and features Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell, Jon Hamm and more, is a follow-up to the 1986 original.
