Toxic First Look: Yash Starrer Unveils Rukmini Vasanth As Mellisa In New Character Poster From The Pan World Film

The character unveilings for Yash‘s highly anticipated film Toxic – A Fairytale for Grown-Ups continue! The makers have now revealed Rukmini Vasanth as Mellisa in a stunning new poster that has fans excited for what is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of 2026.

Following the character reveals of Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, Nayanthara as Ganga, and Tara Sutaria as Rebecca, the latest poster introduces Vasanth’s character within a 1960s party atmosphere. The image captures Mellisa moving through festive surroundings with focused determination, presenting a figure who maintains sharp composure amid surrounding chaos.

Director Geetu Mohandas Praises Rukmini Vasanth

Director Geetu Mohandas had high praise for the actress. She said that what she admires most about Rukmini is her intelligence as an actor. She does not just perform, she processes. She asks questions not out of doubt but out of curiosity and it pushes her to think deeper.

Mohandas added that watching Vasanth work reminds her that intelligence on screen often lies in what is left unsaid. The director revealed that between shots, she often sees the actress quietly writing in her journal and capturing thoughts and small anecdotes from the set.

Rukmini Vasanth’s Impressive Journey

Rukmini Vasanth made her Kannada film debut with Birbal Trilogy in 2019. She earned the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress in Kannada for her performance in the two part romantic drama Sapta Saagaradaache Ello – Side A and Side B in 2023.

Her subsequent work includes Baanadariyalli, Bagheera, and Bhairathi Ranagal, alongside her Telugu debut in Appudo Ippudo Eppudo. In 2025, she entered Tamil cinema with Ace and Madharaasi and appeared in Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, one of the year’s highest grossing Indian films. Vasanth trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

A Historic Production

Toxic is breaking new ground as the first major Indian film conceptualized, written, and shot simultaneously in both Kannada and English languages. Dubbed versions are planned for Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and additional languages.

The production features an impressive technical crew including National Award winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer T.P. Abid. Action sequences have been choreographed by Hollywood’s J.J. Perry, known for his work on John Wick, alongside National Award winning duo Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.

Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash through KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic – A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is scheduled for theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
