In recent weekend reports, it has emerged that Kareena Kapoor Khan won’t be part of the upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups due to scheduling conflicts. This change affects both her South debut and her collaboration with Kannada superstar Yash.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is set to start production by June, making the last-minute casting switch a significant concern for the producers.

Internally, resolving Kapoor’s scheduling conflict remains a priority. If unsuccessful, the production team seeks an actor with nationwide appeal due to the project’s significant investment. As per a report in Midday, Nayanthara has a huge fanbase in the south and emerges as a strong candidate for an impactful on-screen pairing with Yash. Alternatively, Kriti Sanon, who is currently popular in Bollywood, is also under consideration. However, she must be able to balance her commitments, notably with Housefull 5. A final decision is expected by next week.
Toxic also stars Kiara Advani as Yash’s love interest, further heightening anticipation for the film’s casting developments.
