Actress Triptii Dimri has received huge attention after her appearance in Animal. She is currently preparing for another intense character. Recent reports suggested that she is set to play the legendary Parveen Babi in an upcoming biopic. As per the latest update, she has already started her research even before signing the film.
Triptii Dimri Prepares To Play Parveen Babi
The biopic is expected to be a Netflix series and will be directed by The Sky Is Pink filmmaker Shonali Bose. While official confirmation is yet to come, sources reveal Dimri is dedicated to understanding Parveen Babi’s life.
A source quoted by India Today revealed, “She is deeply invested in understanding Parveen Babi’s journey, from her rise to superstardom to the personal struggles she faced. Even though she hasn’t signed the dotted line yet, her commitment to preparation speaks volumes.”
If everything works out, this project will mark Dimri’s web series debut and a return to strong female-led stories.
How She Is Preparing For The Role
Dimri is reportedly doing extensive research on Babi’s career, iconic films, and personal challenges. She is watching her movies, reading old interviews, and analysing the actress’s public image.
Since Babi was the first Bollywood star to appear on the cover of Time magazine and was known for her bold screen presence in films like Kaala Patthar, Shaan, and Namak Halaal, the role requires deep preparation.
Parveen Babi was one of the highest-paid actresses of the ‘70s and ‘80s. Famous for her glamorous roles and rebellious attitude, she shocked many when she left the industry in 1991. Her journey was filled with success, controversies, and personal struggles. This makes her life a compelling story for a biopic.
Triptii Dimri: Work Front
Besides this biopic, Triptii Dimri has a busy slate. She will be seen in Dharma Productions’ Dhadak 2 alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi.
She is also shooting with Shahid Kapoor for Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming project. Additionally, she was in talks to reunite with Kartik Aaryan for an untitled love story. While some rumours hinted at her exit from the film, director Anurag Basu has confirmed that she is still part of the project.
