Throwback SRK: Before Bollywood, There Was Barry John’s Stage
Veteran actor Amar Talwar shocked the internet when he shared previously unseen photos of a young Shah Rukh Khan from the late 1980s. In the heartfelt post, Talwar detailed the experience of working with SRK when they were both part of Barry John’s Theatre Action Group (TAG), including plays such as Rough Crossing and Who’s Life Is It Anyway?
He noted that while they were in the process of staging Lend Me a Tenor, Barry had hoped that Shah Rukh would take the lead role – though by that time, he was already set on his move to Mumbai and Bollywood, and, as Talwar said, “the rest is history, I guess.”
