Uunchai Movie Review: Amitabh Bachchan Delivers Superb Performance As It Sheds Light On Significance Of Friendship At Old Age

Boman has something new to offer to his fans, while Anupam delivers an amazing one with others

Directed and produced by Sooraj Barjatya, “Uunchai” stars Amitabh Bachchan, Parineeti Chopra, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Sarika, Nafisa Ali. It’s distributed by Rajshri productions and is a part of production. It has been released in theatres today.

It is a tale of three friends who join a trek to the Everest Base Camp, where a simple trek becomes a personal, emotional and spiritual journey as they fight their physical limitations and realise true freedom. It includes characters, namely Amit, Bhupen, Om, and Javed. After Bhupen’s death, and a tribute to him, Amit plans to trek to the base of Mount Everest that the four had thought to for a day before his death. Sarika as Bhupen’s love, while Neena plays the wife of Boman Irani.

The heart warming film has decent preferences for all. Amitabh is as usual an exciting and the best to see his character, Neena is a delight when it comes to her performance as she includes a flavour to the scene. Boman has something new to offer to his fans, while Anupam delivers an amazing one with others. Parineeti as a trekking captain looks into the same avatar and original.

The cinematography is fine and ‘Keti Ko’ song is most loved. Sooraj Barjatya’s films mostly focus on nuclear families like Hum Saath Saath Hain. His direction gives a different perspective and brings a movie on friendship this time with a unique touch. An emotional movie which leaves you teary-eyed shows that friendship does not end when people become old and it’s the same as earlier with love and promises between all.
