As the buzz around War 2 intensifies, Vaani Kapoor, who starred in the original blockbuster, has finally reacted to her absence from the sequel. War 2 stars Kiara Advani as the new female lead opposite Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR.
“Me, Sid, and Tiger are not all there”: Vaani on being left out of War 2
In a candid chat with Siddharth Kanan, Vaani addressed the speculation with good humour. “Me, Sid, and Tiger are not all there in the sequel. Tiger and I both passed away in War. So I said, if Tiger comes back, I’m coming back too, my friend!” she said, referring to her and Tiger Shroff’s characters being killed off in the first film.
She added, “It is looking beautiful. It is cinematic. It is larger than life. Kudos to the team.” Vaani appeared gracious and supportive, stating she felt “incredibly grateful” to have been part of War, which remains one of YRF’s biggest action hits.
YRF’s War 2 Trailer Launch Postponed Due To Hysteria Surrounding Saiyaara
War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in a massy face-off. Kiara Advani also features in this flick and her bikini-clad avatar got a rocking response.
Film’s trailer was to be launched next week on 23rd July. But due to blockbuster opening of YRF’s own film Saiyaara, studio has decided to postpone trailer launch of their Spy universe film. Film’s trailer will be out around 30th July.
The CBFC passed the War 2 trailer on Friday, July 18, with a U/A 16+ certificate. As per reports, the run time of the trailer is 2 minutes and 39 seconds.
War 2 marks Ayan Mukerji’s first collaboration with YRF. It is also a part of YRF’s Spy Universe. Interestingly, another film from this cinematic universe, Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, will also be out this year on Christmas.
YRF Secures IMAX Showcasing for War 2
“In a strategy move, YRF has already secured an exclusive nationwide showcasing on the big screen format of IMAX, which means that no other film except for War 2 will get showcasing at the aforementioned properties in India. The film has secured a run on IMAX properties until the release of the next Conjuring film. Internationally too, most properties catering to the Indian diaspora are giving a preference to War 2 at IMAX properties,” revealed a source.
Vaani to be seen in Mandala Murders
Vaani is currently gearing up for her OTT debut with Mandala Murders, a crime-thriller under the YRF Entertainment banner. In the same interview, she also weighed in on social media negativity, saying she stays away from cancel culture and focuses on moving forward.
