He spoke on his future projects, including Border 2, Bhediya 2, Citadel: Honey Bunny Season 2, and more.
Varun Dhawan On His Role In Sunny Deol’s Border 2
On November 11, 2024, fans flooded Varun with questions, and he didn’t hold back in giving them insights into his career. When asked about his role in the highly anticipated Border 2, the actor described it as “a very, very challenging part.”
This has piqued fans’ curiosity, as the war drama promises to be an intense film. The movie, which also stars Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, is directed by Anurag Singh and produced by JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar. Border 2 is slated to hit cinemas on January 23, 2026, and fans are eagerly awaiting the epic storyline that continues the legacy of the 1997 classic.
Actor On Whether Fans Will See His ‘Upgraded Version’ In Bhediya 2
In the same session, Varun was asked about his upcoming supernatural comedy, Bhediya 2. The film is part of the Maddock Supernatural Universe, and fans are excited to see what’s next for the character.
One fan asked if they could expect to see an “upgraded version” of the werewolf character in the sequel. Varun replied with humour, saying, “Iskaaa jawaab sirf @amarkaushik se sakte hain (Only Amar Kaushik can answer this) #varunsays but ya I think it’s possible.”
It seems the actor is leaving the big reveal up to director Amar Kaushik, but his teasing response has only fueled the excitement around the film.
Varun On Citadel: Honey Bynnu S2 & More
Varun also gave a glimpse into his busy schedule and future projects. Responding to a fan query about Citadel: Honey Bunny Season 2, the actor explained that he is currently busy shooting for two other films.
He said, “Rajdk wanna make it into a mini movie next maybe.”
In another fun moment, a fan asked if they could expect another movie like Judwaa 2, and Varun hinted at his upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
Directed by his father, David Dhawan, the movie promises to offer a fresh twist, with Varun teasing, “Haha crazy in a new way now situation aise atti hain jawaani mein aur ishq mein” (The situation is crazy in a new way now, in youth and love).
For the unversed, Varun Dhawan is preparing for the release of Atlee’s Baby John. He stars alongside Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff in the film. It also has a cameo appearance from Salman Khan. Baby John hits theatres worldwide on Dec 20.
