Kartik Aaryan is looking to take the Aashiqui franchise to new heights. He believes that keeping the title for Aashiqui 3 will help the film in the long run. After the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, he sees the power of franchises and is keen on bringing Aashiqui 3 back under its iconic name.
Kartik Aaryan Suggest Bhushan Kumar To Acquire The Rights For Aashiqui 3
Originally, Aaryan was set to star in Aashiqui 3 under the direction of Anurag Basu. However, earlier this year, the film’s name was changed to Tu Aashiqui Hai due to a dispute between T-Series and Vishesh Films. Now, Aaryan wants to bring the project back under the Aashiqui banner, believing it will add value to the story.
A source close to the film told Mid-day, “The success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3 has confirmed Kartik’s belief in the power of franchises. He has suggested to Bhushan that he initiate talks with Mukesh Bhatt to acquire the title. Kartik is certain that building the love story under the Aashiqui franchise will give it a push.”
The Aashiqui franchise has a history of success. The first film, released in 1990, launched the careers of Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The 2013 sequel, Aashiqui 2, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, was also a big hit. Both films are remembered fondly by fans and critics.
However, making Aashiqui 3 isn’t without challenges. There’s still an ongoing dispute between T-Series and Vishesh Films over the franchise rights.
On top of that, Anurag Basu, who was initially set to direct, is busy with the re-shoots of Metro… In Dino. This could delay the project, with sources suggesting the film may not begin production until next year. Despite these obstacles, Aaryan is determined to ensure the film is made with care.
Actor Might Also Appear In Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety Sequel
In addition to Aashiqui 3, Aaryan is also looking at other franchise opportunities. There are reports of a potential sequel to his 2018 hit Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, which has kept fans excited.
In the meantime, Aaryan is preparing to begin shooting for Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, the sequel to the 2019 comedy, directed by Mudassar Aziz.
