The first shooting phase for David Dhawan‘s latest comedy film has just concluded in Mumbai. This new, untitled project marks the fourth collaboration between director David Dhawan and his son, Varun Dhawan. It is followed by their successful films like Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2, and Coolie No 1 together. Mrunal Thakur joined the team as the female lead.
Varun Dhawan To Shoot 2nd Schedule In November
According to a source close to the production, as reported by Pinkvilla, the Mumbai schedule has wrapped up. The buzz around this film has been growing, especially as it reunites the Dhawan duo. Varun Dhawan, who has been hard at work, is expected to return to this film in November after he finishes shooting for his other project, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
Actor Faced Injury While Shooting For David Dhawan’s Film
The source also revealed that Varun faced injury to his ribs during the shoot. Despite this, he continued to put in significant effort for the film.
This upcoming comedy will see Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur pairing up for the first time. Mrunal, known for her roles in Super 30, Jersey, Sita Ramam, and Hi Nanna, is anticipated to bring a fresh dynamic to the screen with Varun.
Recently, Mid-Day disclosed that a massive set was constructed at Mehboob Studios for this film. Produced by Ramesh Taurani under Tips Entertainment, the movie is expected to be a love triangle and is slated for release on October 2, 2025. The cast also includes Maniesh Paul, adding further star power to the project.
Varun Dhawan: Work Front
On Varun Dhawan’s upcoming work, he is next set to appear in Baby John, an action drama. This film, a Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Theri, was originally scheduled for release on May 31, 2024, but has been pushed to December 25, 2024.
Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, Priya Atlee, Jyoti Deshpande, and Murad Khetani, Baby John also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanya Malhotra, and Jackie Shroff.
