Fans of Varun Dhawan will have to wait a little longer to see him in action as a cop in Atlee’s ‘VD 18‘. The movie, which was slated to release on May 30, 2024, has been postponed to the last quarter of the year due to the delay in the shoot.

According to a source close to the production, the movie is being made on a large scale and the makers are aiming for perfection. Every minute detail is taken into consideration and the makers don’t want to compromise on the quality of the film. The shoot was supposed to end by December, but there has been a delay in the wrap. Hence, the decision to postpone the release date was taken.
‘VD 18′ is Atlee’s first Bollywood production after his directorial ‘Jawan‘, which starred Shah Rukh Khan and was a blockbuster hit. The movie also features Wamiqa Gabbi and Keerthy Suresh as the female leads. The movie is an action-thriller that revolves around Varun Dhawan’s character, who is a cop with a mission.

The movie is expected to be a visual treat for the fans, as it will have high-octane action sequences, stunning locations, and a gripping storyline. The movie will also have a cameo appearance by Sanya Malhotra.
Sanya Malhotra joins Varun Dhawan in VD18
According to Pinkvilla, Sanya will appear in the film for a cameo. The actress will reportedly have a crucial role in the film, important to the storyline. The report quoted a source as saying, “Sanya readily accepted Atlee’s request for a cameo. She had a wonderful experience working with him on Jawan, and no way could she turn down his offer. This cameo is her way of showing gratitude to Atlee for giving her a blockbuster like Jawan. She shot for her brief sequence with Varun in Bandra earlier in October.”
The exact release date of ‘VD 18‘ is yet to be announced, but the fans can hope to see it on the big screen by the end of 2024. The film is produced by Atlee and Murad Khetani.
